Società Esercizio Rimorchi e Salvataggi – SERS SRL – was founded in 1969 by terminal operators to supply tug services in the port of Ravenna, the company was taken over by the Neapolitan ship owner Eduardo Vitiello in the early 80’s, who together with his sons expanded the activity in the ports of Ancona, Ortona, Vasto and Termoli. Today SERS is part of Rimorchiatori Mediterranei Group and provides towage and related services, including harbor towage, offshore terminal towage, ocean towage, salvage and marine pollution control and escort tugs. SERS is by far the largest operator in Adriatic.
